Dressed up Dresser | Ikea Hack

I love Ikea hacks… in some ways its like starting with a blank canvas. Since Ikea furniture is everywhere I feel like adding some character and making it special is important. When picking out furniture for my baby girl’s room I wanted the changing table to double as storage… so a dresser seemed like the best option. I decided dress up the Ikea wood Hemnes drawer chest with overlays and new knobs.

The Hemnes Dresser “before”

15After gluing them with liquid nails I taped them down so they wouldn’t move till dry. Q-tips work pretty well for taking off the excess glue from edges of the overlay. The overlays are usually painted to match the color of your dresser but I bought the white stain Hemnes dresser and the overlays matched perfectly right out of the bag so I decided not to paint them. Dressed up Dresser | Ikea Hack - DesignerLipService.com

I bought these brass ones from CB2. They have a ton of other options as well.Dressed up Dresser | Ikea Hack - DesignerLipService.com4Dressed up Dresser | Ikea Hack - DesignerLipService.comDressed up Dresser | Ikea Hack - DesignerLipService.comDressed up Dresser | Ikea Hack - DesignerLipService.com

And voila! These little add ons really add to the charm of this dresser.
